Principal Designer

About the Role
The Principal Designer operates under general supervision, applying advanced engineering techniques to independently resolve complex engineering problems and methods. This role involves representing the organization in high-level conferences, addressing significant questions, and negotiating with key engineers and officials from other organizations. The Principal Designer also provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers, and is extensively consulted by associates, thanks to a high degree of reliance placed on their scientific interpretations and advice.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced engineering techniques to tackle complex problems.
• Make informed decisions on engineering methodologies.
• Represent the organization in conferences and negotiations.
• Offer technical guidance to less experienced engineers and designers.
• Be a relied-upon consultant for scientific interpretations and advice.
• Manage measurable assets, including assigned staff and budget.

Requirements

• An undergraduate degree in Engineering.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, with average experience typically being over 10 years.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions independently.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to represent the organization effectively.
