Key Responsibilities:
- Embedded Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for avionics and flight control systems.
- Real-Time Systems: Implement software for real-time applications ensuring high reliability and minimal latency.
- Algorithm Implementation: Work with system engineers to convert control algorithms and system requirements into embedded software code.
- Integration and Testing: Integrate software components with hardware systems and conduct rigorous testing to ensure compliance and performance.
- Safety-Critical Systems: Develop software according to industry standards such as DO-178C and DO-254.
- Code Optimization: Optimize code for performance while adhering to coding standards.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for compliance and future reference.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve software defects and performance issues.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree: Required in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Embedded Software Experience: Minimum of 8 years, preferably in aerospace or safety-critical industries.
- Programming Languages: Proficient in C, C++, and assembly language for embedded systems.
- RTOS Experience: Familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems and development for real-time applications.
- Safety Standards Knowledge: Experience with aerospace safety standards (DO-178C, DO-254).
- Hardware Integration: Understanding of hardware-software integration with sensors, actuators, and microcontrollers.
- Version Control: Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Debugging Skills: Strong skills in debugging and problem-solving.
- Team Player: Excellent teamwork and communication skills necessary for collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
