In this role as Principal Engineer – Network Prototyping, you will design, develop, execute, and demonstrate early product prototypes based on customer requirements/use cases, providing support to team members to ensure compliance with time-frame, quality, and cost targets.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and evaluate early prototypes to meet performance specifications.
- Collaborate with testing teams to ensure proper testing of prototypes meets all customer requirements.
- Conduct functional and preliminary code-based unit testing, providing feedback for architects.
- Understand and iteratively develop networking functionalities for assessment across different hardware platforms.
- Architect and implement end-to-end networking solutions and integrate existing components efficiently.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of full system behavior and propose innovative approaches for optimization.
- Mentor senior engineers and set up demos for protocol testing.
- Produce clear and concise developer notes and engage actively in prototyping activities.
- Work with cross-functional teams, sharing knowledge with relevant stakeholders.
- Support networking activities for modems and other networking products.
- Analyze and resolve issues related to networking within prototypes.
Education and Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree/PhD in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
- 10-15 years of experience in networking, prototyping, and development.
Key Skills:
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, Linux networking, C/C++, and Python.
- Experience with prototyping, simulators, and setting up demos.
- Proficiency in networking concepts and equipment such as traffic generators, modems, routers, and network analyzers.
- Fast coding across multiple languages.
- Experience in presenting demos to customers.
- Strong analytical skills and out-of-the-box thinking.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- End-to-end system-level reasoning.
