As a Principal Fire Protection Engineer, you will serve as a technical advisor specializing in Fire Protection, Fire & Gas detection, and Process Safety studies. Your expertise will encompass the design of Fire Protection systems, Fire & Gas detection systems, and utilities for medium to large-scale oil, gas, and infrastructure projects. The role demands a thorough understanding of process safety and fire engineering practices, including relevant international standards and regulations. This position requires a minimum of 15 years of experience in the Oil & Gas, Hydrocarbons, and Infrastructure industries, along with outstanding communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering companies for the design of upstream Oil and Gas Plant facilities and Petrochemical Facilities.
- Develop fire water basis of design reports along with fire water and foam water demand calculations.
- Prepare P&IDs for the Fire water network, Foam water system, Fire water pumps & tanks, Fire water coverage layouts, Fire hazardous area layouts, Electrical area classification layouts, and Fire risk area drawings.
- Create fire protection equipment data sheets & specifications, safety equipment data sheets & specifications, and fire hazardous equipment schedules.
- Perform steady state hydraulic calculations and transient analyses for fire water networks, foam water systems, and water spray systems.
- Prepare Fire & Gas Philosophy, Fire & Gas detection layouts, block diagrams, cause and effect diagrams, and 3-D mapping studies.
- Design emergency escape routes, safety sign layouts, safety shower layouts, and safety equipment layouts (SCBA, SABA, windsocks, extinguishers).
- Prepare third-party scopes of work including EIA, PHA etc., conduct technical bid evaluations, and review vendor non-material requisitions.
- Participate in and review reports for safety studies, including PrHA, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, BRA, QRA, consequence modeling, and prepare action close-outs.
- Prepare MTOs and construction scope of work documents.
- Attend 3D model reviews.
- Develop process safety discipline budgets and review proposals with estimated manhours.

Qualifications & Years of Experience
- Minimum Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, Fire Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 15 years of relevant engineering experience.
Key Skills & Technical Competencies
- Sound knowledge of basic engineering principles, P&ID/PFD development, hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, and safety devices.
- Proficiency in hydraulics software (e.g. Pipenet, Elite).
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities to work effectively within a team and independently.
- Experience in handling work group leader activities.
- Familiarity with the International Fire Code, NFPA Standards, Saudi Aramco engineering standards and procedures, and Saudi Building Code.
- Strong sense of responsibility to complete projects within schedule.
- Proficiency in English, both orally and in writing.
- Excellent technical presentation skills.
- Preferred qualifications include relevant registration/certifications such as Professional Engineer (P.E.), CFPS, HAZOP, functional safety, and SCE.
- Must be certified NFPA & Registered PE.
