Principal Software Test Engineer

About the Job:
We are seeking an experienced Software Testing Team Lead with a strong background in embedded systems and aviation software testing. The ideal candidate has managed testing teams, written and executed test cases, and is familiar with RTCA DO-178C. UAV systems and QT framework experience are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the software testing team to ensure timely, accurate test delivery.
• Design and maintain test cases from requirements and design documents.
• Execute manual and automated tests against functional, performance, and safety requirements.
• Ensure compliance with RTCA DO-178C in safety-critical environments.
• Manage the full testing lifecycle: planning, execution, defect reporting, completion.
• Oversee testing for embedded and avionics-related systems.
• Mentor the team on test automation and CI best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement in QA strategies and methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system integration and validation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Electronics, or related fields).
• 10+ years of experience in software testing, focused on embedded systems.
• Strong manual and automated test case experience.
• Familiarity with the QT framework.
• Solid understanding of software engineering processes.
• In-depth knowledge of RTCA DO-178C.
• UAV systems experience preferred.
• Background in aviation/aerospace software testing.

Preferred Skills:

• Technical and line management experience.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools.
• Familiarity with Agile and TDD methodologies.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
