Position

The Principal Technical Architect (Big Data) will serve as the strategic technical leader, responsible for designing, validating, and implementing robust and scalable architectures for our data analytics and AI solutions. This role requires close collaboration with product, engineering, and sales teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and enforce data architecture standards and best practices to ensure quality, scalability, performance, and data integrity.
  • Perform technical assessments to determine hardware requirements and sizing for big data workloads.
  • Design robust and scalable data ingestion, transformation, and storage pipelines using modern big data technologies.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical oversight to data engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with the platform core development team as a subject matter expert on enhancing data management and processing components.
  • Comply with organizational policies related to Quality, Health, Safety, Environment, and other relevant areas.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in data-intensive projects as a Big Data Engineer/Architect.
  • Strong expertise in big data modeling and architecture best practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of modern big data methodologies and technologies, including tools such as Spark, Kafka, Trino, Clickhouse, and S3.
  • Solid computer science fundamentals; fluent in SQL and one of the general programming languages (Java or Python).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and hands-on coding/code review skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, TOGAF).
  • Experience with big data technologies and analytics platforms (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Databricks, Snowflake).
  • Experience in a customer-facing technical role, providing guidance during sales cycles or customer engagements.
