This Principal Test Engineer role sits within the Product Prototyping team and is responsible for translating system-level requirements into measurable test cases, working cross-functionally with system architects, waveform designers, and hardware/software teams, and running end-to-end lab and field testing on RF and SDR systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand system-level requirements and translate them into measurable test cases
  • Work closely with system architects, waveform designers, and software/hardware teams to specify appropriate test cases and verification procedures
  • Perform end-to-end testing on lab or field setups and generate status and test reports
  • Evaluate system performance and compliance/compatibility, troubleshoot operational issues, and characterize the performance of RF and SDR system components
  • Identify, describe, and build the hardware/software lab resources needed for tests based on project needs

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.Eng or MS in Electronic or Systems Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in test and measurement, with a focus on RF radio systems
  • Experience in lab planning/budgeting and SW/HW integration
  • Experience with test case automation
  • Hands-on experience integrating software and hardware in a lab, including troubleshooting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Solid RF fundamentals with experience using lab equipment such as spectrum analysers, network analysers, and channel simulators
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or an equivalent programming language
  • Strong multi-tasking ability across a variety of complex, parallel tasks
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
