As a Product Data Scientist II, your mission will be to enhance decision-making across product and business areas using relevant, reliable, and actionable data. You will take ownership of specific domains, collaborate closely with product and business managers, and work as part of a talented team comprising data scientists and data engineers. Your responsibilities will include managing the entire data value chain, including logging, data modeling, analysis, reporting, and experimentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverage ambiguous business challenges to drive objective data-driven insights.
  • Develop a deep understanding of product experiences and business processes relevant to your focus area.
  • Familiarize yourself with source data and its generating systems through documentation and collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Contribute to the design and maintenance of data models for performance measurement and comprehension.
  • Work with product and business teams to identify key questions that can be answered with data.
  • Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to support data-driven decisions via deep analysis and automated reports.
  • Design, plan, and analyze experiments (A/B and multivariate tests).
  • Support product and business managers with KPI design and goal setting.
  • Mentor other data scientists in their professional growth.
  • Contribute to improving internal processes, tooling, and training programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, technology, or a similar field; a postgraduate degree is a plus but not required.
  • 3+ years of experience working in data science and machine learning, particularly in an online consumer product setting.
  • Proficiency in SQL and reproducible data analysis using Python or R.
  • Familiarity with data modeling, dimensional design, and the entire data analysis lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of various analysis types, including descriptive, exploratory, inferential, causal, and predictive analysis.
  • Understanding of experiment design and statistical techniques.
  • Familiarity with product data and product health measurement metrics is beneficial.
  • Experience with BigQuery and Google Cloud Platform is a plus. Data engineering and pipeline development experience (e.g., via Airflow) is advantageous.
  • Experience with classical machine learning frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a growth mindset, excellent collaboration and communication abilities, and a commitment to accountability and simplicity in achieving goals.
