Product Design Engineer

The company is hiring a Product Design Engineer for the Electrical Products and Services engineering team. This electrical product focused team is a part of a global engineering team, responsible for the design and continuous innovation for products used within our rapidly expanding data center footprint. The Electrical Product Engineering team at the company works to design and develop resilient, cost-effective electrical distribution products and systems.

Responsibilities

• Directly lead product design and development from concept to implementation.
• Define equipment specifications and evaluate the merit of design changes.
• Collaborate with other disciplines such as mechanical and structural engineering, reliability, QA/QC, and compliance to create well thought out products.
• Prepare, review, and approve product design and drawings including electrical bill of materials, configuration, layouts, etc.
• Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify appropriate electrical equipment and bill of materials.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal requirements and building codes across different countries.
• Support Operations including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting support, and operating procedure review.

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering background with hands-on experience in new product design and development of electrical power distribution equipment such as Low Voltage Switchgear and Power Distribution Cabinets.
• Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.
• Strong technical communication skills to convey complex engineering decisions to senior leadership.
