We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Product Design Engineer to lead the design and development of our next-generation underwater products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical and industrial design, with an in-depth understanding of materials and manufacturing processes suitable for high-pressure marine environments. This role involves translating product requirements into functional, durable, and aesthetically pleasing designs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conceptual Design: Lead the ideation and conceptual design for new underwater products, addressing factors such as hydrodynamics, user experience, and environmental resilience.
  • CAD Modeling: Develop detailed 3D models and technical drawings using industry-standard CAD software for prototyping and manufacturing.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Create physical prototypes and oversee stress testing, including pressure and corrosion resistance tests, to validate design integrity.
  • Materials Selection: Research and specify materials, finishes, and components capable of withstanding harsh marine conditions.
  • Manufacturing Collaboration: Collaborate closely with manufacturing partners to ensure designs are optimized for mass production and quality control.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating a creative and effective approach to product design and aesthetics.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical principles, kinematics, and structural analysis.
  • Expertise in materials suitable for underwater use, such as corrosion-resistant alloys, polymers, and composites.
  • Proficiency in using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other simulation tools for design validation.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in product design, preferably in demanding environments such as marine, aerospace, or medical devices.
  • Expert-level proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA) and rendering tools.
