You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, maintain, and evolve design standards, guidelines, and components. This position requires expertise in design systems, stakeholder management, and strategic alignment with business objectives, while also fostering innovation and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities and Competencies
- Oversee the development and iterative refinement of Careem's design system, ensuring alignment with business goals and user requirements.
- Establish and enforce scalable design standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Provide expert guidance on design decisions and influence product strategy.
- Partner with product management, engineering, and design teams to integrate design solutions.
- Manage stakeholder relationships and lead design guilds for input on the design system.
- Manage the lifecycle of design system components and maintain documentation for accessibility.
- Collaborate with engineering teams for technical feasibility and quality implementation.
- Monitor industry trends and introduce new patterns, tools, and design approaches.
- Mentor team members, inspiring and motivating them towards design initiatives.
- Clearly communicate the purpose and benefits of the design system to diverse audiences.
- Ensure high accuracy in design work and promote simplification of design patterns.
