About the Role
We build our AI platform, Ask, in squads consisting of a product manager, three to four engineers, and a designer. Each squad takes ownership of a specific aspect of the product from end to end, ensuring close collaboration and accountability for quality outcomes. We are hiring product managers for three types of ownership, adaptable to your strengths:
- Own a squad. Take responsibility for one slice of the platform, establishing direction, writing PRDs, making key decisions, and being accountable for results.
- Own a new bet. Engage in innovative 0→1 work, identifying new problems worth solving, validating their existence, and developing solutions that are not part of the current roadmap.
- Go forward deployed. Work directly with customers in ministries or banks to tailor the platform to their needs, gaining real-time insights from production that will inform the broader roadmap.

This role is not for those who prefer well-defined strategies; it requires active decision-making in real-world applications involving complex environments like air-gapped government networks. A significant part of the role centers around defining what success looks like and how to achieve it.
What You'll Do
- Build things yourself. Prototype and script using an AI coding agent, bringing tangible artifacts to discussions rather than relying solely on presentations.
- Own the outcome, end-to-end. Manage all aspects from discovery through to shipping and measuring the impact of your work, without predefined specifications.
- Own evaluations. Define quality metrics for your area, create test sets, and ensure they are integrated into the shipping process to validate functionality before customer deployment.
- Stay ahead of the industry. Monitor rapid advancements in the field, ensuring you are aware of new capabilities and frameworks that can be integrated, while discerning between building and adopting solutions.
- Ship into constraints. Navigate on-prem, air-gapped, model-agnostic, multi-lingual, and security-cleared environments to shape product design from the outset.
- Work across squads. Contribute to cross-squad efforts focused on customer benefits, ensuring effective collaboration without formal reporting lines.
- Stay close to users. Engage with government and enterprise buyers through lengthy procurement processes and leverage insights from the forward-deployed team to inform development.
The Team
The Ask team consists of approximately 60 engineers, five product managers, a product marketing manager, and three product designers. You will report to the Head of Product and collaborate daily with Engineering, Design, Deployments, and Commercial teams. Members come from leading product companies such as DeepMind, Google, Amazon, Apple, and top strategy firms including McKinsey QuantumBlack and BCG X.

Who You Are
You bring 5+ years of product experience with a technical background—ideally a CS or engineering degree or similar experience as a software, data, or machine learning engineer. You have shipped ML or LLM-powered products and have an understanding of potential failures such as hallucination, drift, and prompt injection. Your comfort with data spans SQL and experimental results interpretation. Experience with enterprise, regulated, or public-sector clients is beneficial, as is familiarity with Arabic, agent evaluation, or forward-deployed models.
