The Directed Energy Research Center at TII seeks a Product UX Manager to join the Signals, Electronics, and Acoustics team. This role may involve occasional overseas travel for short periods for conferences, supplier visits, training, etc.

The Product UX Manager will be responsible for driving the user experience strategy and execution for a web-based map-centric data analytics platform. This involves creating intuitive, user-centered frontend experiences from complex geospatial data capabilities while managing the product roadmap using Kanban methodology and modern cloud-based development practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute product strategy for the web frontend of the map-centric data analytics software, aligning user needs with business objectives.
  • Own the end-to-end user experience across web interfaces, ensuring efficient workflows for complex geospatial data analysis and visualization.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to prioritize features and improvements using Kanban methodology.
  • Conduct user research, analyze usage patterns, and gather feedback to improve UX.
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps, feature specifications, and acceptance criteria using behavior-driven development (BDD) practices.
  • Work closely with backend teams for seamless integration between REST APIs and user-facing web interfaces.
  • Establish key product metrics to ensure user success and inform iterative improvements.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication and decision-making processes.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate product vision, progress, and trade-offs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong product management experience with web-based software platforms, ideally in data analytics or visualization.
  • Deep understanding of user experience principles and the ability to simplify complex technical capabilities into user-friendly workflows.
  • Experience with BDD practices and requirement writing in Gherkin format.
  • Technical fluency in WebSocket and REST API design principles, modern web UI frameworks, TypeScript, and AWS cloud services.
  • Familiarity with Kanban or other agile methodologies for product development.
  • Proficiency in user research techniques and usability testing.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting user behavior, product metrics, and market feedback.
  • Experience with mapping technologies, GIS systems, or geospatial data is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Design, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant product management experience.
  • Proven experience in creating user personas and conducting UX research.
  • Hands-on experience writing BDD scenarios and collaborating with engineering teams on testing.
  • Portfolio demonstrating successful product launches and improvements to user experience preferred.
