Professional Services Engineer - Cloudflare Implementation

About the Job
As a Professional Services Engineer, you will design, build and implement Cloudflare environments for our French-speaking enterprise and public-sector clients. This hands-on implementation role encompasses onboarding, migration from existing CDN and WAF platforms, WAF and DDoS deployment, Zero Trust rollout, DNS cutovers, SASE, and production hardening.

You will work within well-planned and governed client projects, collaborating with a Delivery Manager for project management and a Principal Architect for technical oversight. Your primary responsibility is to handle build, validation, and client-facing technical implementation.

The portfolio includes notable French banks, industrial groups, public bodies, and media organizations, requiring direct interaction with their technical teams in French.

What You Will Do
Cloudflare Implementation & Migration

• Configure and deploy Cloudflare environments across DNS, CDN and caching, WAF, DDoS mitigation, rate limiting, load balancing, Bot Management, Zero Trust and Access, tunnels, and SASE components.
• Manage migrations from existing platforms, particularly Akamai and other CDN/WAF providers.
• Execute rule translation, traffic cutover planning, and staged deployment.
• Plan and conduct production DNS cutovers with validated rollback plans.
• Develop pilots and proofs of concept, spanning individual applications to full production rollouts.
• Test, validate, and optimize deployed environments for performance metrics.

Client-Facing Technical Delivery

• Lead technical sessions in French, including workshops and configuration reviews.
• Clearly articulate technical decisions and risks to engineers and management stakeholders.
• Produce client-facing technical documentation in both French and English, including configuration records, runbooks, and cutover plans.
• Identify and report technical or delivery risks promptly.

Working Within the Delivery Model

• Adhere to project plans provided by the Delivery Manager.
• Provide regular progress updates and identify potential delays early.
• Consult with the Principal Architect regarding architectural questions.
• Maintain accurate project timesheets and record all efforts.
• Communicate potential out-of-scope requests to the Delivery Manager.
• Ensure a structured handover into managed services at the project's conclusion, complete with necessary documentation.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

• Collaborate with implementation engineers and other teams across multiple regions, including Dubai and Poland.
• Utilize project management tools to maintain project documentation and reporting.
• Contribute to the internal knowledge base and reusable implementation patterns.
• Support managed services teams with escalations requiring deeper implementation expertise.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
Technical Foundation

• Strong understanding of DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS and certificates.
• Knowledge of caching, CDN mechanics, web application architecture, and origin infrastructure.
• Familiarity with cloud fundamentals across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Solid grounding in web application security (WAF concepts, OWASP Top 10, bot mitigation, DDoS attack patterns).
• Proficiency with technical troubleshooting tools (curl, dig, traceroute, browser developer tools).
• Scripting and automation capabilities with Python, Bash, or Terraform, including REST API experience.
• Experience with Cloudflare Workers is a strong advantage.

Cloudflare Experience

• Senior Engineer: Required hands-on Cloudflare implementation experience.
• Mid-Level Engineer: Solid experience with comparable CDN, WAF, or Zero Trust technologies can be considered.

Delivery Experience
Senior Engineer

• 5+ years of experience implementing network, security, or cloud infrastructure for external clients.
• Experience leading technical delivery within client-facing projects.

Mid-Level Engineer

• 3+ years of relevant experience or strong technical support/NOC experience.

For Both Levels

• Experience working in a consultancy, MSP, or systems integrator environment.
• Background in production cutovers or migrations under formal change control is advantageous.
• Confidence in direct client interactions.

Languages

• Full professional fluency required in both French and English.
• French is the primary language. English facilitates collaboration with international teams.

Working Pattern

• Operates primarily during Central European hours.
• Occasional planned out-of-hours presence may be required for client migrations.
• This position is remote based in Morocco, involving collaboration through the IT Hub in Casablanca and limited travel to client sites within Europe.
