Professional Services Engineer - Cloudflare Implementation

About the Role
As a Professional Services Engineer, you will design, build, and implement environments for French-speaking enterprise and public-sector clients, guiding them successfully into production. This hands-on implementation role encompasses onboarding, migration from existing CDN and WAF platforms, WAF and DDoS deployment, Zero Trust rollout, DNS cutovers, SASE, and production hardening. You will be part of well-structured client projects with a Delivery Manager overseeing the project plan and delivery governance, while the Principal Architect provides technical authority and overall design oversight. Your primary responsibilities lie in the build, validation, and client-facing technical implementation. The client portfolio will include French banks, industrial groups, public bodies, and media organizations, where you will work directly with their technical teams in French, explaining implementations, decision-making processes, and production change management.
Two levels of hiring are available:

• Senior Engineer: Capable of owning migration end-to-end and independently leading technical conversations with clients.
• Mid-Level Engineer: Strong network/security fundamentals and implementation experience, with opportunities for further expertise through structured training and certification.

What You Will Do
Implementation & Migration

• Configure and deploy environments across DNS, CDN and caching, WAF, DDoS mitigation, rate limiting, load balancing, Bot Management, Zero Trust and Access, tunnels, and SASE components.
• Deliver migrations from incumbent platforms, particularly Akamai and other CDN/WAF providers.
• Handle rule translation, traffic cutover planning, staged deployment, and rollback design.
• Plan and execute production DNS cutovers, ensuring validated rollback procedures are in place at each stage.
• Build and deliver pilots and proofs of concept, ranging from individual applications to full production rollouts.
• Test, validate, and tune deployed environments, focusing on cache-hit ratio, latency, WAF false positives, and other client-relevant performance metrics.

Client-Facing Technical Delivery

• Lead technical working sessions with client teams in French, including workshops, configuration reviews, cutover rehearsals, and go-live calls.
• Clearly explain technical decisions, risks, and implementation considerations to both engineers and management stakeholders.
• Produce client-facing technical documentation in both French and English, such as configuration records, runbooks, cutover plans, and project closure documentation.
• Identify and raise technical or delivery risks promptly, preventing late surfacing of issues.

Working Within the Delivery Model

• Adhere to the project plan set by the Delivery Manager.
• Provide clear and accurate progress updates and flag potential delays or blockers early.
• Escalate architecture and design questions to the Principal Architect, avoiding unapproved architectural changes during delivery.
• Maintain accurate project timesheets and log efforts against appropriate projects.
• Communicate potential out-of-scope client requests to the Delivery Manager.
• Ensure a structured handover into managed services at project closure, including comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and known risks.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

• Collaborate with implementation engineers in Dubai and Poland, managed services teams in Morocco and the Philippines, and pre-sales and architecture teams in France.
• Utilize Zoho Projects and the company system for project tasks, documentation, and reporting.
• Contribute to the internal knowledge base and reusable implementation patterns and playbooks.
• Assist managed services teams with escalations requiring deeper implementation expertise.
• Share technical knowledge across the broader delivery organization.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
Technical Foundation
You should possess a robust understanding of:

• DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, and certificates
• Proxies and reverse proxies
• Caching and CDN mechanics
• Web application architecture
• Origin infrastructure
• Cloud fundamentals across AWS, Azure, or GCP
  You should be able to clearly articulate the interactions between a browser and an origin infrastructure, confidently troubleshooting problems throughout that pathway. Additionally, a solid grounding in web application security is needed, including:
• WAF concepts
• OWASP Top 10
• Bot mitigation
• DDoS attack patterns
• Rate limiting
  You should be comfortable utilizing technical troubleshooting tools, including:
• curl
• dig
• traceroute
• Browser developer tools
• Packet capture tools as necessary
  Experience with scripting and automation using technologies such as Python, Bash, or Terraform, along with familiarity working with REST APIs, is required. Knowledge of Workers is a strong advantage.

Experience

• Senior position: Hands-on implementation experience is required.
• Mid-Level position: Experience is beneficial but not mandatory if you possess strong experience with other CDN, WAF, or Zero Trust technologies (e.g., Akamai or other relevant platforms).

Delivery Experience
Senior Engineer

• 5+ years of experience in implementing network, security, or cloud infrastructure for external clients.
• Proven experience leading technical delivery within client-facing projects.
• Hands-on implementation experience.
• Ability to guide technical client discussions and implementation activities independently.

Mid-Level Engineer

• 3+ years of relevant experience in network, security, or cloud environments.
• Alternative experience in strong technical support or NOC roles combined with genuine implementation exposure.
• Solid technical fundamentals with a capacity to develop expertise.

For Both Levels

• Experience in a professional services, consultancy, MSP, or systems integrator environment with committed project timelines.
• Familiarity with production cutovers or migrations under formal change control is a significant advantage.
• Confidence in direct client interactions.

Languages
Fluency in both French and English is essential.

• French will be the primary working language for this portfolio, encompassing technical workshops, cutover, go-live calls, and documentation preparation.
• English is necessary for collaboration with the company's international teams and work related to Gulf and Asian accounts.
  Both languages will be evaluated during the interview process.

Working Pattern
The role operates primarily within Central European working hours, although some client migrations and production go-lives may require planned out-of-hours presence, pre-agreed and compensated. The position is remote from Morocco, with collaboration through the IT Hub in Casablanca and occasional travel to client sites in France and other European locations.
