About
This role is responsible for supporting the Emirates VP Program Manager and the PM Directors in the USA during the execution of the Emirates Programs from sales handover through to delivery of the final aircraft and completion of commitment letter items. The position also involves leading and directing the Discovery Dubai (DD) employees while coordinating with their US-based leaders. The local PM will manage cost, schedule performance, and risk for the Emirates Programs in collaboration with USA PM Leadership. This includes liaising with internal the company organizations to communicate customer requirements and ensure the program is executed with technical accuracy, consistency, and profitability, while also managing customer relationships.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Support PM Directors by regularly meeting with key Emirates representatives, effectively communicating key messages from Emirates to the company teammates.
  • Represent the USA PM Team at Dubai morning meetings, passing relevant information back to the USA PM and Engineering teams.
  • Lead the DD Team to ensure defined work scope with clear deliverables aligned with customer and program requirements and milestones in both hardware and software topics.
  • Assist in the bid process by developing Program Management bid inputs, identifying risks, and coordinating technical responses.
  • Conduct regular program team meetings to review performance in scheduling, cost, BOM status, risk management, and customer satisfaction, ensuring documentation aligns with current risk management tracking tools.

Skills, Experience, Education, Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Certifications, Language

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 7-9+ years of experience or a Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience.
  • At least 5 years of project management or PMO experience.
  • Strong financial acumen, particularly in business case development and value proposition.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to respond to stakeholder queries effectively.
  • Proficient numerical skills with expert capabilities in analyzing large data sets in Excel.

Qualifications

  • IPMA or PMP Certification preferred.
  • Experience in the aviation industry or international avionics projects.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Primavera, Microsoft Project tools.

Physical Demand
The employee frequently needs to sit, use their hands and fingers, and communicate verbally.

Special Position Requirements

  • Schedule: Core business hours are Monday through Friday with flexibility to accommodate international customers.
  • Travel: Up to 50% domestic and international travel may be required depending on customer needs.
  • Customer Location Based or Site Visits: This role will necessitate travel to/from customer offices in Dubai (using a personal vehicle), supplier sites, and the US home office (via air travel).
