Position

Join us at the company as a Programme Quality Engineer, where you’ll develop and implement quality standards and assurance systems to ensure products meet company and industry standards throughout the program lifecycle. The Programme Quality Engineer is responsible for overseeing program lifecycle activities from cradle to grave, including reviewing and, in some cases, approving program and project deliverables. The incumbent ensures that design and development are undertaken per approved plans and procedures, and that all test, verification, and qualification activities occur at planned phases. Feedback from appropriate functions and customer communities is considered during the design. The Programme Quality Engineer develops process improvement, preventive, and corrective action plans to ensure the continual improvement of processes that enable conforming product delivery.

Key Accountabilities

  • Act as the Customer interface for programme-specific quality enquiries, investigations, audits, and programme quality reporting, in conjunction with approved quality plans.
  • Represent the programme at periodic quality reviews both internally and externally, ensuring A3 and SOFT reporting is complete, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Design and implement programme quality plans in accordance with applicable international and/or military standards.
  • Ensure quality engineering and control capabilities are in place, along with testing procedures and methods for risk reduction of designed and developed materials, components, or documentation, in line with the stated requirements.
  • Perform detailed reviews and provide feedback on 2-D drawings, 3D models, electrical/electronic schematics, and software code (as applicable to areas of competency) during the design lifecycle of the supplied product.
  • Ensure programme improvement plans are developed based on sound data and executed as intended.
  • Establish a risk-based assurance programme, conducting programme audits and maturity assessments per company and international standards.
  • Contribute to programme/contract performance reviews by preparing and supplying appropriate quality data and analyses to mitigate risk to the business or customer.
  • Carry out Factory and Site Acceptance Test (FAT/SAT) witness activities in alignment with an agreed and published test plan, ensuring timely report publication with clear disposition.
  • Ensure First Article Inspections (FAI) are conducted as per requirements, with reports approved and feedback provided to enable the release of conforming material/product.
  • Ensure that Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) is carried out as per requirements, with associated deliverables (e.g., PPAP, PSW, MSA, Cpk, FMEA, etc.) meeting requirements and delivery commitments.
  • Work closely and communicate effectively with key stakeholders on matters affecting business commitments to design and develop customer-destined products/services, including regular collaboration with Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, and Programmes.
  • Support in verification, validation, and testing activities during industrialisation for products destined for qualification.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations in workflows and processes, and that all documentation is thoroughly completed per quality guidelines.

Experience & Education Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years extensive experience in a Quality Engineering environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or similar engineering.
  • Certified Green Belt in Six Sigma.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 methodologies in Quality Assurance Techniques.
  • Understanding of testing tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge and skills in mechanical, electrical or product design systems.
  • Understanding of quality engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of APQP and First Article Inspection tools and techniques.
  • Proficiency in technical report writing.
