As a Power Management & Automation Commissioning Engineer, you will lead the commissioning, testing, and validation of Power Management Systems (PMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), Power Plant Controllers (PPC), and Microgrid Controllers (MGC). Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commissioning and configuration of Power Management Systems (PMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), Power Plant Controllers (PPC), and Microgrid Controllers (MGC)
- Implement and tune PPC controller
- Configure and commission Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) control, including SOC management, charge/discharge scheduling, and hybrid dispatch optimization
- Design, implement, and commission Power Automation systems for Oil & Gas, Industrial, and Utility applications
- Program and configure PLC/RTU systems for power management applications
- Prepare, coordinate, and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with equipment manufacturers
- Lead Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) as per approved client formats and procedures
Essential Requirements
- Configure and test multiple communication protocols including Modbus RTU/TCP, IEC 61850 (MMS, GOOSE), DNP3, and IEC 60870-5-101/103/104
- Implement cybersecurity measures as per IEC 62351 and industry best practices
- Hands-on experience with software tools on multiple software platforms such as Codesys and IEC 61131 PLC Tools

- Generator Control: Synchronization, load sharing, peak shaving, black start, island mode
- Power Balancing: Economic dispatch, spinning reserve, import/export control, AGC interface
- PPC/Renewable: Active/reactive power control, frequency response, FRT, BESS dispatch
- Grid Code Compliance: Frequency response, voltage control, FRT, power quality, compliance testing
- Protection Coordination: Relay coordination with PMS, breaker failure, bus protection schemes
