The Project Controls Director is responsible for managing the Project Controls Function across all work packages and major contracts within a project. This role leads the delivery of critical components such as Cost Management, Planning/Scheduling, Change, Reporting, Risk, and Information Management. The Project Controls Director serves as the regional expert, ensuring the success of project controls through technical leadership and team development.

Key Responsibilities
- Recognised as a regional expert in project controls, internally and externally.
- Provide regional technical leadership support for pursuits and bids.
- Deliver budgetary performance for the regional Project Controls team.
- Lead and engage people, focusing on development and effective deployment.
- Foster a diverse and inclusive culture, contributing to team growth.
- Ensure service excellence across all functions.
- Guarantee compliance with Business Management Systems, including contract, risk, health, safety, and finance.
- Oversee Health, Safety & Wellbeing activities within the cost center.
- Manage contract execution and compliance.
- Maintain a visible presence in the regional market.
- Secure bids regionally for the cost center.
- Responsible for regional resourcing and capability building.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 - 20 years of professional experience in Project Controls Management for major construction projects.
- Ideally degree qualified, with a background in Quantity Surveying or Project Management.
- Extensive experience leading large teams.
- Essential mining experience.
- Proven success in delivering projects as a Project Controls Director, with experience in coordinating and managing project controls teams.
- Experience across multiple sectors, including major project level and programme level work.
- Generalist skills in estimating, cost, scheduling, risk, change, performance measurement, and reporting, with a proven ability to establish management systems and information management approaches.
- Familiarity with contract strategy and embedding project controls across the supply chain.
- Experience within both client and contractor environments is an advantage.
Role Dependencies
- Reports to the Head of Project Management / Programme Director.
Location and Travel
- The position is based in the UAE, either at the office or on a client site.
- Very occasional travel across the region and to sites may be required.
