Project Director

About the Role
We are looking for an accomplished and visionary Project Director to lead the successful delivery of complex, large-scale projects in Dubai and across the region. This is a high-profile leadership position for an experienced professional who can take full accountability for project outcomes, drive organizational excellence, and create an environment where teams thrive and deliver exceptional results.

As Project Director, you will operate at senior client and stakeholder levels, lead multidisciplinary teams through all project phases, manage significant commercial and delivery risks, and champion a culture of safety, quality, and innovation. This role offers the opportunity to shape organizational strategy, mentor emerging leaders, and make a meaningful impact on complex, transformative initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and overall direction for major projects and programs, serving as the senior point of contact for clients, partners, and key stakeholders.
• Establish clear project objectives, performance measures, governance structures, and comprehensive delivery plans aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead project mobilization, implementation, and transition through the entire project lifecycle, from positioning and winning through design, execution, and commissioning.
• Build and maintain high-performing project organizations by bringing together multidisciplinary teams across project management, engineering, commercial, planning, and operations.
• Own project delivery strategy, governance, performance metrics, and outcomes, ensuring accountability across all stakeholders.
• Manage program, cost, schedule, risk, quality, safety, and change with analytical rigor and transparent reporting.
• Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with senior client representatives, sponsors, contractors, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
• Lead the resolution of significant technical, commercial, contractual, and delivery challenges with decisiveness and sound judgment.
• Provide robust challenge and assurance to ensure projects remain deliverable, commercially sound, and aligned with client objectives.
• Drive effective decision-making across complex interfaces and competing stakeholder priorities with flexibility and empathy.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, sustainability, and technical excellence throughout the project organization.
• Develop and mentor senior project managers and emerging leaders, creating a strong succession pipeline and fostering professional growth.
• Support organizational growth strategy by identifying opportunities, developing client relationships, and contributing to bids and major pursuits.
• Champion innovation, digital delivery, modern methods of working, and sustainable solutions that advance industry standards.
• Represent the organization at senior industry, client, and stakeholder forums with professionalism and credibility.

Qualifications

• Proven major-project leader with a substantial track record of successfully delivering complex, large-scale initiatives.
• Significant senior project or program leadership experience, ideally with large-scale, complex projects of substantial capital value and multiple interfaces.
• Demonstrable responsibility for project outcomes across cost, schedule, risk, quality, safety, and delivery performance.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex supply-chain relationships in demanding environments.
• Strong understanding of project governance, assurance, safety, and regulatory requirements relevant to your industry.
• Experience working with major clients, government bodies, delivery partners, and Tier 1 contractors or equivalent stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness and demonstrated experience managing contractual, commercial, and financial issues.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder-management skills at executive and board levels.
