Job Purpose
The individual will manage the planning, execution, monitoring, and control of various civil engineering activities within Power Transmission and Distribution Cabling projects to ensure successful completion. This role requires liaising with the site team, client/authorities engineers, and project stakeholders to obtain engineering approvals and NOCs, as well as securing final project clearance from clients and authorities upon completion.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed civil works schedules in coordination with concerned Site/Project Managers
- Review and recommend approval for engineering drawings, shop-drawings, specifications, and documents to ensure alignment with project requirements
- Coordinate with the site team, Design Manager, and Site/Project Managers for cable route engineering and obtain necessary approvals
- Manage Site Civil Engineers and Supervisors to ensure project tasks are completed per schedule
- Monitor resource utilization to ensure optimal resource allocation within project budget
- Coordinate inspections by clients and obtain certification of works progress regularly
- Collate site execution documents for client inspections, maintenance records, and invoice submissions
- Coordinate and accompany government authorities and RTA officials to the sites to obtain final clearance certificates
- Interpret geotechnical reports as needed
- Coordinate and oversee project activities to ensure adherence to established plans
- Identify potential project risks and develop strategies for mitigation
- Monitor project progress and promptly address deviations from the plan
- Anticipate and manage technical challenges and unforeseen issues during execution
- Conduct quality inspections and assessments of civil constructions to verify compliance with specifications
- Implement testing and validation procedures for durability and safety of constructed projects
- Maintain clear communication with project stakeholders, including clients and management
- Provide regular updates, progress reports, and presentations to stakeholders
- Foster a collaborative work environment to promote teamwork and knowledge sharing
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation for efficient maintenance and future reference
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Diploma in Civil Engineering
- Approval from RTA for project works in Right of Way
Experience
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in Electrical Projects; 3 years of supervisory experience is desired
- Experience in designing building structures and transmission line towers is desirable
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in civil engineering software and project management tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for informed decision-making in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
- Detail-oriented mindset with commitment to delivering high-quality results
- Demonstrated project management skills including planning, resource allocation, and risk management
