Key Responsibilities
- Possess, understand, and apply the fundamental concepts and practices of power system protection and protective relays.
- Train and assist customers in the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of protection systems.
- Ensure completion and implementation of assigned work within the agreed-upon scope, schedule, and budget.
- Participate in the preparation of functional design specifications.
- Prepare and maintain detailed design documents, reports, checklists, test reports, and deliverables.
- Follow and apply the company's Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
- Understand, create, and simplify processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
- 2+ years of relevant application experience with electric power systems, including industry practices regarding system protection, protective relays, settings, and testing practices and philosophies.
- Good knowledge of electric power system protection and control, integration, automation, and communications applications.
- Working knowledge of electric power system design, studies, information and communication technology, and protective relay applications.
- Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally a minimum of 25% based on focus area.
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Background check results satisfactory to the company.
- Negative drug test results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer in Training certificate.
- Experience in electrical utilities, industrial plants, consulting engineering, or system integration.
- Project engineering experience.
- Working knowledge of Vision or other project management tracking software.
