Project Engineer NPDI

The Project Engineer is responsible for the cross-functional management of new product development and sustaining projects. These projects vary in complexity and span multiple functions, organizations, geographic regions, and cultures. The Project Engineer will coordinate efforts among engineering, offering management, manufacturing, procurement, quality, logistics, service, marketing, sales, and other groups to optimize time to market while monitoring project costs, schedules, and resources. Building credibility, establishing rapport, and maintaining communication with project stakeholders at various levels is essential for project success.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate cross-functional planning and project execution, ensuring on-time delivery within budget while meeting scope requirements.
• Monitor team schedules and ensure coordination on critical path activities.
• Provide executive-level updates to senior management and sponsors.
• Track project progress to ensure alignment with schedule and cost targets.
• Identify key issues and drive decisions to avoid project delays.
• Identify risks and prepare contingency plans to address them.
• Ensure adherence to NPDI (New Product Development & Introduction) processes.
• Lead continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in project management.
• Experience in managing new product development projects within a manufacturing industry (IT experience is not considered).
• Familiarity with waterfall (stage gate) project management methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of risk management and response methods.
• Proficiency in Gantt Chart schedule management.
• Experience in communication management among stakeholders and project KPI reporting.
• Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and project planning skills.
• Experience leading cross-functional meetings and presentations.
• Ability to develop relationships across functions to achieve business objectives.
• Process and results-oriented with a proven ability to meet goals.
• Preferred: experience with 3-phase power distribution or busbar products; proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Project, or Smartsheet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar project management training is preferred but not compulsory.
