About the role
Role Name: Project Engineer
Job Location: Dubai, UAE
Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.E/B-Tech, B.A) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from a four-year college or university.
Driving License: Candidates must hold a valid UAE driving license as a mandatory requirement for the role.
Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee engineering life cycle of hardware products including architecture, design, and implementation.
- Create civil and mechanical design solutions and documentation.
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD for the development and maintenance of engineering design packages.
- Source, select, and qualify components used in the company’s technology.
- Investigate alternate component technologies or supplies for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability, and implement changes.
- Develop plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation infrastructure projects.
- Review field conditions relevant to the constructability of design elements.
- Define package requirements for products and customer requirements.
- Develop new packaging to meet established requirements and maintain oversight and quality of existing packages.
- Knowledge of MicroStation will be an advantage.
- Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects. Accountable for the successful completion of projects.
- Monitor all site safety and legal regulations during the implementation of the project.
- Involved during site execution and assist team members.
- Strictly monitor the project schedule for meeting the project deadlines.
- Knowledge of MS Projects & Visio will be an advantage.
- Have networking skills to understand and build network design that meets the project requirements.
- Coordinate with other internal departments to collect information required for the project.
- Coordinate and closely follow up with Contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors based on project requirements.
- Prepare daily reports and provide all relevant information to the Installation Manager, Project Manager, and Project Director.
- Prepare project design, shop drawing reviews, and Project submittals, including conceptual, preliminary, and final ITS engineering and technical planning.
- Ensure the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
- Work on the preparation of technical proposals and PowerPoint presentations.
- Attend project meetings and provide required information to the Installation Manager, Project Manager, and Project Director.
- Close coordination with the Installation Manager & Project Manager during the Project Phase.
- Possess a self-driven attitude with inputs from the Installation Manager & Project Manager and suggest new ideas and solutions that best meet the project requirements.
- Have a very good technical understanding and documentation skills.
- Be able to read, interpret, and understand RFP (Request for Proposal) documents and effectively support the Project Team in preparing technical proposals for new projects, ensuring that technical requirements, specifications, compliance criteria, and proposed solutions are accurately addressed.
Additional skills:
- Excellent computer literacy in hardware, application software, and network protocols.
- Knowledge of industrial grade network switches and servers, electronics/electrical circuits, RFID, laser products, and fiber optic solutions.
- Experience with UAE laws and regulations, along with familiarity with NOC procedures, will be considered an added advantage.
