Position

This position is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE and involves close collaboration with the Project Manager and discipline engineers to effectively manage engineering activities and coordinate project interfaces. The successful candidate will lead and supervise the engineering subcontractor, ensuring successful execution of all engineering phases from initiation to completion. Key responsibilities include delivering high-quality engineering outputs on schedule and within budget, while adhering to HSSE standards and meeting performance goals for quality, schedule, and cost.

The role includes leading client meetings, organizing engineering studies, and managing engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, including constructability reviews and as-built documentation. Additionally, the role supports the Project Manager in stakeholder interface management and provides technical guidance to ensure all engineering deliverables comply with client specifications, contractual obligations, and industry standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate engineering projects in alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Lead and nurture a multi-discipline engineering team promoting collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Review FEED and detailed design documents, providing high-level project expertise.
  • Allocate resources efficiently to optimize project outcomes.
  • Oversee engineering projects to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Maintain stakeholder communication, addressing issues promptly with upper management, clients, and team members.
  • Coordinate design and safety workshops, facilitating compliance with recommendations.
  • Monitor compliance with engineering standards and processes.
  • Ensure process safety is prioritized within the engineering team.
  • Manage Engineering Histogram for workforce planning support.
  • Responsible for engineering content in project execution plans.
  • Consult and negotiate with clients on specifications, proposals, and engineering reports.
  • Review and coordinate technical work of project engineering teams.
  • Focus on project managerial aspects such as cost, deadlines, and resource allocation, providing expert issue resolution and work integration monitoring.
  • Assist in interface management among internal and external stakeholders.
  • Report on Engineering status and liaise with Clients, Subcontractors, and Vendors.
  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning efforts along with vendor coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field with significant experience in a technical organization is required.
  • Preferred qualifications include PMP certification and a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 20 years in major Brownfield oil & gas projects is required, including at least 5 years in a similar role with ADNOC Onshore/Offshore on EPC or EPCm projects.
  • Familiarity with oil & gas, petrochemical, power, and infrastructure sector standards is beneficial.
  • Experience in customer-facing communication is essential.
  • Specific experience across the Oil & Gas project lifecycle in the GCC region is required, with prior Pre-FEED and FEED experience being essential.
  • Detailed engineering experience in both onshore and offshore projects is necessary.

  • Financial and commercial awareness, along with proficient PC skills (MS Office Automation).
