About the Role
The Information Engineer will serve as the focal point for project and document management data manipulation and reporting. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the Engineering, Procurement, and project management teams to provide critical reports that analyze the current project status and highlight items requiring management intervention. You will translate internal and external customer requirements from available data into graphical illustrative reports and innovate reporting to provide dashboards and presentations using tools like Power BI and SharePoint. Additionally, you will be responsible for tracking planned, forecasted, and actual dates in relation to the project schedule and extracting data from EDMS and Project planning systems to deliver insights into project performance and efficiencies.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Develop reporting tools for Class 1 document review, focusing on critical document review and cycle performance.
- Establish a Procurement Dashboard to provide an overview of all packages.
- Extract Aconex data, cleanse it, and publish daily reports highlighting variations between planned and actual issue dates.
- Report on document delays when EPC CONTRACTORs fail to submit documents per the project schedule.
- Automate email notifications to engineers regarding overdue, due, and near-due documents daily.
- Establish data cleaning processes for preparation in reporting tools.
- Build and maintain Aconex workflows to assist the Engineering Team.
- Evaluate ad hoc reporting requests from the project team and recommend implementation strategies.
- Download Aconex data for document Daily Reports, Historical Reports, and documents in workflows.
- Develop visual reporting tools, trend analyses, and status graphs to illustrate delays, documents not received, and correlations.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
- Serve as the focal point for data reporting queries from the IPMT (Integrated Project Management Team).
- Understand client and internal project requirements for data collection, conditioning, reporting, and turnover.
- Build data architecture to support reporting and dashboarding initiatives.
- Collaborate with IPMT to share best practices and align document control processes, track document workflows, approvals, and distributions.
- Work with EPC CONTRACTORs to establish data repositories that meet project requirements.
- Manage day-to-day data management and collection queries from IPMT.
- Set up automated tools for upper management reports on project status.
- Support the IPMT on data visualization, report design, and KPI development based on the extracted data.
- Develop necessary procedures and specifications.
Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)
- Prioritize HSE above all matters and ensure it is never compromised.
- Act as a role model for HSE on the project at all times.
- Promote HSE visibly whenever possible.
Interfaces
- Participate in weekly meetings and ad hoc workshops with EPC CONTRACTORs, Document Control, Project Controls, Engineering, and Project Management teams for application and reporting development.
People
- Engage in team-building activities to contribute to an effective organization.
- Provide technical support and input across individual project packages and Project Management initiatives.
Engineering
- Align reporting requirements across packages and with EPC CONTRACTORs.
- Develop informative reporting tools to assist in timely document reviews.
- Aid in maintaining the MDR (Master Document Register), EDDR (Engineering Deliverable Document Register), and DDM (Document Delivery Matrix).
Quality
- Analyze documentation schedule data to identify inconsistencies and issues in EPC CONTRACTOR delivery programs.
- Report document data quality issues to Project Management and propose mitigation measures.
- Conduct data cleaning for documentation time analysis.
Risk
- Contribute to risk logs and registers with analytics related to document management.
- Evaluate, document, and report risks, while identifying mitigation opportunities within document management.
- Inform SPM (Senior Project Manager), Project Controls, and Project Information Manager about negative trends and concerns with EPC CONTRACTOR document delivery processes.
- Perform gap analysis of deliverables throughout Project Registers.
Reporting Requirements
- Provide inputs to the Project Information Manager for weekly reporting.
- Establish effective data analysis tools to monitor and report on project progress.
- Develop, implement, and maintain automated reports for upper management on project status.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Relevant experience in project information, document and data management combined with project control experience.
- Proficient in administering electronic database tools to analyze, manipulate, and transfer data (ETL).
- Expert-level understanding of project information and document management processes.
- Ability to translate client requirements into comprehensible reports for management.
- Expertise in document management, data manipulation, interrogation, and reporting.
- Skills in reporting automation through Excel using SQL and Visual Basic for Application.
- Familiarity with management of change processes.
Professional Certifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Data analytics certification preferred.
Technical Competencies
- Excellent proficiency in using Power BI and Power Query desktop.
- Experience working with international contractors under international contract conditions.
