About the Role / About the Job
As a Project Lead Engineer – Primary, you will be focusing on designing, communicating, and implementing an operational plan for completing an engineering-based project. This will include preparing designs, project controls and specifications, schedules, cost estimates, production, transportation, installation, testing, and/or commissioning of new infrastructure, facilities, equipment, etc. You will monitor progress and performance against the project plan, taking action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Your responsibilities may include identifying, developing, and gathering the resources necessary to complete the project, preparing engineering standards, designs and work specifications, developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts, and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors. As a Senior Professional (P3), you will apply advanced knowledge of your job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience, managing projects/processes independently with limited supervision while coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.

How You’ll Make an Impact
You will play a critical role in providing technical support for tendering and execution of customer projects, preparation of primary drawings and bill of quantities for engineered items of gas insulated switchgears, as well as being the technical lead for substations. Your overall responsibility will include managing and leading all engineering activities of the project, preparing specifications, checking suppliers’ offers, and coordinating with supply chain management for procurement of materials, equipment, and services.

• Lead and attend discussions with customers, handle site queries, and take necessary actions.
• Assist apprentices, entry-level engineers, technicians, and support teams with design questions.
• Review deliverables before submission to clients.
• Review and prepare technical documents for the procurement of current transformers and voltage transformers.
• Participate in customer meetings as required and actively take part in project review meetings.
• Contribute actively to reduce the lead time and cost of the offered GIS solution by developing a solution as per project technical requirements.
• Adhere to the detailed project plan to ensure on-time delivery.
• Ensure quality of deliverables as a top priority.
• Focus on optimized solutions that benefit both customers and the organization.
• Interface with civil, steel, and application engineers on systems/solutions part from the company/EPC companies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in Gas insulated Switchgear (GIS) roles.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Arabic is required.
