About the Role
The Regional Proposal Lead Engineer is responsible for leading the proposal process in collaboration with Regional Sales and Proposal Teams to deliver high-quality and competitive proposals on time. This role manages the complete proposal lifecycle from receipt of RFQs through technical and commercial clarification, driving proposal strategy, prioritization, and successful customer engagement.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Act as the primary focal point for Regional Sales in leading timely and high-quality project proposals.
  • Lead and coordinate RFQ reviews, proposal strategy, prioritization, and proposal execution activities with the Proposal Team.
  • Manage proposal generation activities and ensure alignment with customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Drive proposal KPIs including service level, conversion hit rate, proposal quality, and clean order performance.
  • Review inbound project RFQs and collaborate with Sales teams on proposal strategy and prioritization.
  • Develop and execute product selection strategies in partnership with Business Development Managers, Product Groups, and Sales Teams.
  • Collaborate with regional teams and proposal centers to ensure competitive, accurate, and timely proposal submissions.
  • Lead commercial reviews of RFQs, including bid-no-bid evaluations and proposal strategies.
  • Own RFQ prioritization and escalation processes.
  • Coordinate technical and commercial queries to ensure timely responses and proposal completion.
  • Align commercial aspects of cross-business-unit offerings within Measurement Solutions proposals.
  • Support proposal development through pricing analysis, historical data review, and commercial optimization.
  • Maintain accurate CRM updates, including win, loss, and cancellation tracking.
  • Develop knowledge of customer standards, approved vendor lists, and regional requirements to ensure proposal compliance.
  • Support supplier qualification and collaborate with sourcing teams to develop local supplier capabilities.
  • Prequalify customer requirements to ensure proposal feasibility and identify opportunities for additional products and services.
  • Support other proposal and business development activities as required.

For This Role, You Will Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Instrumentation, Electronics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of proposal experience within the instrumentation, automation, or process control industry.
  • Strong understanding of proposal management, commercial reviews, and project bidding processes.
  • Experience working with EPC customers and regional project opportunities.
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams.

  • Experience using CRM systems.
  • Knowledge of Oracle applications.
  • Experience with strategic proposal planning and bid management.
  • Strong commercial awareness and proposal strategy development skills.
  • Familiarity with SMART goal setting and performance management methodologies.
