The role holder is responsible for planning and executing projects in coordination with various departments to ensure effective governance, monitoring, prioritization, and delivery of multiple simultaneous projects of varying complexity. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and track schedules, communication plans, risk mitigation plans, and issue resolution plans for projects.
- Determine project resource plans and recommend appropriate sourcing levels, ensuring adequate provision for effective project execution and completion.
- Manage project plans, metrics, work plans, time sheets, schedules, resource plans, and status reports.
- Ensure timely coordination between the Project Team and stakeholders.
- Monitor all project progress and provide stakeholders with necessary information for decision-making.
- Analyze processes for improvement opportunities and develop corresponding action plans.
- Escalate issues to the Relationship Manager in a timely manner while recommending viable solutions.
- Monitor service providers and contractors to ensure compliance with scope, quality, guidelines, and timelines.
- Oversee the Projects RFP process to ensure quality services and budget adherence.
- Manage project documentation according to the established PMO Project Management Methodology.
- Resolve project obstacles promptly and provide direction as necessary.
- Review project plan revisions as needed due to changing circumstances.
- Ensure continuous improvement in project management methodologies and agile techniques for effective governance within the department.
- Coordinate the delivery management process to meet deadlines and effectively manage risks, issues, and dependencies.
Self-Management Responsibilities
- Define performance goals with the reporting manager at the start of the year and ensure achievement throughout the year.
- Identify and agree on training and development needs with the reporting manager, ensuring that required training is attended.
- Strive for proficiency in all required competencies and skills for the role.
- Stay updated on professional developments, new techniques, and current issues through continued education and professional growth.
Qualifications and Experience
- Threshold Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Finance, Project Management, an MBA, or a related subject.
- Professional Project Management Certifications (PMP/Prince2 or equivalent) preferred.
- Years & Nature of Experience:
- 7+ years of work experience, preferably in a similar role within a Ministry, Banking, or Financial entity.
