We are seeking a talented Project Manager (Design) to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This position plays a critical role in leading and managing diverse projects and teams to ensure successful execution.
Responsibilities
Success in this role will include:
- Managing all phases of the project scope, including project set-up, design, and project coordination meetings.
- Planning and managing project scheduling, budgets, staffing, work plans, and project set-up with the project team and sub-consultants.
- Proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks; resolving problems through objective and systematic analysis.
- Collaborating with Technical Leaders and colleagues to promote an inter-disciplinary design approach and achieve project targets.
- Ensuring project standards and QAQC control procedures are implemented and maintained for each technical area to achieve high standards of design and documentation.
- Tracking and proactively managing the financial performance of projects, ensuring completion within budget and with maximum profitability.
- Creating and communicating clear and attainable project objectives and requirements to key stakeholders, ensuring complete communication with the client.
- Managing the performance of the project team to achieve high standards of design and documentation.
- Coordinating with all other company Divisions and sub-consultants for projects under your responsibility.
- Developing, managing, and maintaining effective client relationships to ensure repeat business.
- Ensuring Project Terms of Reference are established, confirmed, and fulfilled.
- Providing leadership and direction to the project team through proactive communication of project objectives, contract scope, terms, and schedule.
- Preparing look-ahead reports for management and design directors.
- Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 at all project stages to achieve technical excellence in deliverables.
- Making recommendations for resource needs on projects.
- Identifying and alerting the Design Leadership Team about performance issues.
- Providing feedback on staff capabilities and performance to Technical Leaders.
- Assisting in proposal preparation and client discussions related to new work.
- Performing other duties as required.
Qualifications
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, candidates should possess:
- 10 years of relevant experience on various mixed-use, large-scale projects, paired with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Engineering. A Master’s degree, PhD, or similar is advantageous.
- APM or PMP certification would be beneficial.
- Professional licensing as an Architect or Engineer by a recognized architectural or engineering association.
- Experience managing the entire project lifecycle of large, complex, multidisciplinary projects through to post-occupancy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with 2D/3D software, including Revit and AutoCAD.
