Position

The role is part of the Project Management Office (PMO) within the EA & PMO area, with a mission to bridge IT and business, fostering a trustworthy relationship between them and transforming IT into a key driver for business development and execution. The responsible Project Manager within the IHS Group will ensure that each project is delivered on time, within budget and scope, maintaining high quality and aligning with project goals. This position involves coordinating project delivery with various Business Stakeholders (Business Owners, Customers) and IT units (BPMs, EA, Infrastructure, Application Managers, QA, etc.), and requires frequent travel to Nigeria and other IHS markets based on project needs.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely delivery of projects within budget and scope while maintaining quality and project goals.
  • Develop project scopes and objectives, ensuring involvement of stakeholders and technical feasibility.
  • Create project plans employing both waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Monitor project budgets actively.
  • Coordinate resources, including internal teams and third-party vendors for project execution.
  • Ensure proper resource allocation and monitor development progress.
  • Facilitate development and implementation collaboration among different teams.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships across Customers, Vendors, Business Units, Architecture, Development, Infrastructure, QA, etc.
  • Conduct risk management collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation (Reporting, Communication Strategy, Stakeholder Management, Planning & Budgeting).
  • Take responsibility for problem-solving, effective communication at all levels, and engaging with senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Exhibit cultural awareness within a multi-cultural corporate environment.

Qualifications
Functional

  • Certification in at least one PM methodology (PMP, Prince2, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Agile Project Management.
  • Solid understanding of IT (Architecture, Development, Infrastructure).

Behavioural

  • Ability to motivate staff and foster an environment where questions and concerns can be openly discussed.
  • Build productive relationships with business leaders to influence value creation through applications.
  • Collaborate effectively with others, adapting positively to instructions and procedures.
