Project Manager

This role involves managing, supervising, and controlling the development and implementation of a diverse range of major multi-disciplined engineering projects in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. You will be responsible for overseeing projects from initial inception through to completion and handover, with a focus on new plants, facilities, and modifications to existing plants and systems. Your aim will be to ensure optimal and economic development of projects in line with shareholders’ guidelines.

Key accountabilities include leading technical input into proposal developments, coordinating design and materials specifications, managing procurement and tendering, and ensuring compliance with external standards. You will oversee Project Management Consultants to ensure effective site supervision and administration while reporting on project progress. Directing project management teams through all phases of execution—from initiation to commissioning—is essential, as is managing multinational contractors to adhere to project management principles and HSE requirements.

The role also requires you to review source material, participate in meetings to define future project needs, and direct the activities of engineering teams, exercising financial authority as needed. Implementing sound project management principles and adhering to Company standards are crucial, along with evaluating safety programs and addressing deficiencies.

To qualify for this position, a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent is required. Candidates should have a minimum of 12 years of professional experience in Project Engineering/Execution within Oil & Gas projects, including at least 5 years in leadership roles involving multi-disciplined staff and Consultants/Contractors. Strong project management know-how, leadership capabilities, and familiarity with contracts, planning, and budget control are essential. A PMP certification is also required.
