Position

In this Post-Sales role as a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination and management of customer-facing Consulting delivery projects within the CEMEA region (including the Middle East and Africa). This can take the form of oversight across a portfolio of smaller engagements, or hands-on and in-depth management of more strategic engagements, as the market demands. You will build positive relationships with customers and drive customer satisfaction while aligning with all relevant members of the SUSE team, including Technical Consultants and Sales teams – communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Additionally, you will need to have a good understanding of industry-standard best practices for a professional services organization and will play an integral part in implementing or improving processes, contributing your expertise to shaping the future growth of the Professional Services function in SUSE.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for assigned customers during the full lifecycle of SUSE Consulting projects.
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting activities for these engagements.
  • Work with the Consulting management team and Operations function to secure and plan project resources.
  • Control project requirements, scope, and change requests.
  • Manage customer satisfaction and escalate issues in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the weekly Forecasting process with timely & accurate project updates.
  • Work with Services Engagement Managers to negotiate Professional Services Contracts.
  • Assist with the creation of Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Contribute expertise on best practices for Project Delivery.
  • Work with other regions and geos in sharing best practices and resources, where it makes sense for the SUSE global business.
  • Work with the Operations function and other stakeholders to comply with departmental processes and improve processes or develop new practices where appropriate.
  • Provide cover for colleagues’ absences from time to time.
  • Be able to articulate the key values of SUSE products, solutions, and strategy.
  • Display a flexible mindset and be ready to adapt to the changing needs of the business.

Requirements

  • Native Arabic speaker or fluent in Arabic to the equivalent standard of a native speaker.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Experienced at coordinating the delivery of technical projects, including management of a dynamic portfolio of engagements which are ongoing simultaneously.
  • Proven expertise in the use of project management tooling.
  • Capable of dealing effectively with challenging customers.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment in which change is constant – proven ability to be flexible and adaptive.
  • Adjusted to working internationally – with customers & colleagues in a variety of countries.
  • Organized mindset, bringing structure to your customer & colleague interactions, reliability to your regular commitments, and able to generate clear reports.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable with financial data.
  • Excellent communicator, able to interact with stakeholders at all management levels.
  • Great collaborator, able to work across your own team and wider groups, and to extract the best from the resources you work with.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience, or awareness and understanding of the Open Source software industry.
  • Background in working with software-defined infrastructure platforms.
  • Experience in managing OS migration and/or platform migration projects.
  • Technical knowledge in one or more of the following areas: SUSE Rancher Prime and/or Kubernetes based platforms, SUSE Linux Enterprise and/or Enterprise Linux Operating Systems.
  • Certification or equivalent experience in managing projects using Agile methodologies.
