About the Role
We are looking for a Service Engineer – Propulsion Control Systems to handle installation, commissioning, diagnostics, and maintenance of advanced propulsion control and monitoring systems used in marine vessels. This role is based in Dubai and plays a crucial part in our mission to transition the world towards a decarbonized and sustainable future through innovative technology and services.

What Will You Be Doing:

  • Installation and commissioning (new or retrofit) of propulsion control systems, including tuning, troubleshooting, and repairing of propulsion control systems (pitch, load, thrust, joystick, DP integration).
  • Perform onboard commissioning, retrofits, and periodic maintenance.
  • Analyze system logs, trends, and alarms for performance tuning and fault diagnostics.
  • Interface with clients, shipyards, and OEM partners professionally.
  • Generate technical reports and service documentation.

To Be Successful, You Will Need the Following:

  • Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in marine automation/control systems.
  • Strong understanding of various types of drive motor starter panels (auto transformer, soft starter, VFDs, etc.) and electrical circuits.
  • Strong understanding of PLC, HMI, and fieldbus communication protocols (e.g., CAN bus, Modbus, Profibus).
  • Knowledge in hydraulic systems.
  • Hands-on experience with electro/hydraulic pitch control systems.
  • Willingness to travel and work onboard vessels or offshore platforms.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with the company engine control systems.
  • Excellent fault-finding and root cause analysis skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Self-motivated and safety-conscious.

Education:

  • Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering.

Travel and Contract Details:

  • Willingness to travel and work on vessels or offshore platforms is required.
