This role is a general track position for Python engineers at all levels, suitable for those who are passionate about open-source software and innovation. The focus is on producing high-quality, idiomatic Python code that is well-documented, thoroughly tested, and that contributes positively to the broader open-source community.
Work Conditions:
Full-time, remote position with global travel twice a year for company events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write high-quality, well-designed, and well-tested Python software.
- Collaborate proactively with a globally distributed team.
- Demonstrate technical leadership both at the company and within the community.
- Debug issues and produce high-quality code to resolve them.
- Contribute to technical documentation and ensure it is exemplary.
- Engage with the open-source community and help foster it.
What We Are Looking For:
- Exceptional academic record in Computer Science or STEM fields, or a compelling alternative path.
- Professional experience with Python programming.
- Strong organizational and self-starting abilities, with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Experience with Linux (preferably Debian or Ubuntu).
- Ability to travel twice a year for company events (up to two weeks each).
Additional Skills That You Might Bring:
- Experience with container technologies (LXD, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of build systems and toolchains.
- Proficiency in additional programming languages (Golang, Rust, C, or C++).
- Familiarity with web or Flutter development.
- Expertise in REST and gRPC APIs, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with public cloud services or OpenStack, as well as Debian/Ubuntu packaging.
- Exposure to systems programming or scalable web services.
- Performance engineering and security experience.
