We are hiring a Python Engineering Manager committed to accountability in developing an internal product with high engineering quality standards. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to continuous personal and team skill development and driven to deliver impactful results. This role presents an exciting opportunity to collaborate with talented individuals and work with innovative open-source solutions that support the company's growth.

The Commercial Systems unit is comprised of six engineering teams that collaborate closely with other engineering and business divisions at the company. The services designed, developed, and operated by this unit are central to our business, with Python playing a crucial role.

We have openings for software engineering managers to lead the following teams:

  • Data Governance Team: Focused on enabling secure access to comprehensive data sets from various internal and external sources formed in a data mesh. This team utilizes well-known open-source data governance tools like Trino and Ranger to define and execute data governance processes.

  • Integrations Team: Responsible for automating SaaS user management and onboarding new data sources to the data mesh. This team creates and manages a Python-based solution to automate SaaS seat management and monitor application portfolio spend, integrating both internal and external data sources to drive data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop an internal product.
  • Lead a team of software engineers working in Python.
  • Develop the skills and capabilities of direct reports.
  • Seek and implement improvements to established processes, designs, and solutions.
  • Build an understanding of business needs to maximize impact.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional academic background from both high school and university.
  • An undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about an alternative chosen path.
  • Proven experience in software development with proficiency in a high-level programming language (Golang, Python, Java, etc.).
  • Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.
  • Results-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments.
  • Ability to travel internationally twice a year, for company events lasting up to two weeks.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Performance engineering and SRE experience.
  • Experience with data governance, data engineering, or data science.
