We are looking for a Dubai-based Backend QA Engineer (DeFi/Web3-focused) to own and drive the quality strategy for our DeFi backend systems. This role will involve designing robust test frameworks, validating smart contract integrations, and ensuring performance, security, and reliability across our DeFi protocol integrations.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for APIs, backend services, and smart contract interactions.
- Implement integration, regression, and end-to-end testing strategies for DeFi components.
- Create mocks/stubs for Web3 environments and token behaviors to ensure thorough code coverage using static and dynamic analysis tools.
- Validate the integration of new DeFi protocols (e.g., AMMs, lending markets) into backend systems.
- Analyze and simulate economic behaviors, such as slippage, liquidity depth, and oracle responses.
- Test token standards (ERC20, ERC721, etc.) and smart contract edge cases.
- Perform load and stress testing on backend systems that interact with blockchain nodes.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and collaborate with engineering teams to address them.
- Collaborate with the backend team to identify and reproduce issues.
- Utilize tools such as Hardhat, Foundry, Tenderly, and The Graph for contract and protocol validation.
Requirements:
- Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Prior QA experience in fintech, DeFi, or crypto projects.
- Comfortable working in a Scrum-based, agile environment.
- Strong sense of ownership and proactive communication in distributed teams.
Skills:
- Experienced in testing systems that interact with Ethereum nodes (e.g., Geth, Infura).
- Proficient in automated testing tools in Web3 (e.g., Hardhat, Foundry, Chai, Mocha).
- Strong skills in test automation and integration of DeFi protocols into backend systems.
- Familiarity with micro-services architectures and asynchronous systems using message brokers like Kafka or NATS.
- Knowledge of DeFi primitives (e.g., Uniswap v2/v3, Compound, Aave, Curve).
