QA Lead

The QA Lead is a critical function within the QA team responsible for ensuring best-in-class test coverage for game project teams. Reporting directly to a QA Manager, you will collaborate with various stakeholders including project managers, product managers, development teams, and QA teams. You will be a master communicator and bug-finding wizard, capable of leading a team of testers while also providing expert assistance in testing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage large/multiple teams of internal and dev testers split between multiple shifts on complex projects.
• Oversee testing efforts with QA partners in the game teams.
• Manage resource requirements based on the upcoming release scopes.
• Address one-off testing queries, serving as a liaison for the game QA testing teams.
• Assist in maintaining test and development environments by managing specific configurations.
• Collaborate with the game engineering team for ad hoc testing requests.
• Generate status reports for the game QA team and leaders, highlighting the status of testing and escalating risks.
• Conduct daily bug triages, prioritizing bugs and surfacing critical issues.
• Promote QA best practices across internal and external teams.
• Coach team members to develop top talent among testers.

Requirements

• Proven experience in managing quality on mobile/console/PC projects.
• A passion for games across all genres and platforms.
• Proficient in English (B2 level or above) - verbal and written.
• A desire to advance a career in the gaming industry and understand game development processes.
• Ability to juggle and re-prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
• Execute projects according to the planned timeline.
• Track project deliverables using tools like TestRail and Jira.
• Present reports outlining QA project progress, risk registry, and mitigation strategies.

Nice to Have

• Experience overseeing quality on several projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with Google Play and App Store Connect Consoles.
• Experience with various QA tools (e.g., Charles Proxy, XCode).
• Knowledge of automation frameworks.
