General Characteristics (Job Summary)

  • Perform quality activities in accordance with quality management system established.
  • Establish inspection and test plans and its record forms as per project requirements and international codes and standards.
  • Carry out inspections on discipline responsible to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements, and record results.
  • Ensure inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage and perform inspection of the Piping discipline.
  • Generate client Requests For Inspection (RFI) providing sufficient notice for hold, witness, and inspection points.
  • Prepare/Review Quality procedure documents submitted by Subcontractors such as Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and Material Approval Request (MAR).
  • Prepare/Review/Approve related inspection reports documenting inspection results.
  • Control inspection status using systematic tools such as inspection matrix.
  • Set and apply practical inspection processes based on project requirements and international codes.
  • Control Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) ensuring closure within due dates and support in preparing Corrective Action Plans.
  • Perform and coordinate inspections with the client.
  • Assume QC Supervisor's responsibilities in their absence.
  • Address quality violations through regular tool box talks with the construction team.
  • Review and track material submittals for Piping Definable Features prior to Preparatory Meetings.
  • Conduct Preparatory Meetings with Subcontractors related to Piping Definable Features of Work.
  • Inspect incoming material deliveries to confirm specifications and compliance with approved submittals, conducting visual and measurement tests as needed.
  • Reject and facilitate the return of unacceptable materials.
  • Apply lessons learned and ensure proper preventive actions are conducted.
  • Review pre-fabricated spool releases, welding history, and perform inspections.
  • Review and approve Test Packages, conduct line walks, punch preparations, and Hydro test inspections.
  • Monitor RT backlog as per project requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Level

  • Diploma in engineering.
  • Certificate related to Piping disciplines.

Experience

  • Relevant experience from project start to completion.

Knowledge

  • Proficient technical knowledge of related international codes and standards in the Piping discipline.
  • Ability to ensure suitable inspection and test tools are utilized.
  • Skills in investigating and analyzing nonconformities and proposing solutions.
  • Capable of planning and controlling inspections for medium scale projects ($0.5 to $1.5 billion).
  • Anticipate inter-related discipline outcomes to minimize reworks.
  • Proficient in using measuring and testing equipment.
