Roles and Responsibilities
- Control inspection status using systematic tools such as inspection matrices.
- Set and apply practical inspection processes based on project requirements and international codes.
- Prepare inspection records for inclusion in Management Completion Documentation (MC Doc).
- Ensure non-conformance reports (NCRs) are closed out within due dates and assist in preparing corrective action plans.
- Perform and coordinate inspections with clients.
- Assume the responsibilities of the QC Supervisor in their absence.
- Conduct preparatory meetings with subcontractors concerning discipline definable features of work.
Scope of Work
- Ensure that high-temperature linings (e.g., furnaces, boilers, reactors) and passive fire protection (PFP) systems on structural steel and equipment strictly conform to engineering drawings, project specifications, and industry standards.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical, Chemical, or Civil).
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of QA/QC experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or refining industries.
- Familiarity with project specifications and standards, with experience in medium to large-sized projects.
- Relevant working experience in GCC engineering and construction companies.
Knowledge
- Minimum 3+ years of direct experience in the inspection, testing, and application of refractory linings (FCCUs, heaters, reformers).
- Experience with passive fireproofing (PFP) materials.
- Mandatory certifications: API 936 (Refractory Personnel).
- Mandatory certifications: NACE / AMPP Level 2/3 OR FROSIO Level II/III or equivalent specialized PFP/Coating certification.
Job Competencies (Technical & Behavioral)
- In-depth knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in advanced inspection techniques, material testing methods, and documentation.
- Strong analytical skills with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to mentor and guide team members.
