Quality Assurance Officer

The key responsibility of the Quality Assurance Officer is to safeguard the quality of our products and foster a "quality culture". The job incumbent actively engages in the development and implementation of inspection activities, detection and resolution of problems, and making continuous improvement efforts to drive optimization, increase capacity, minimize defects, and reduce cost ensuring that the products meet the required quality standards.

Key Accountabilities

• Developing, drafting, and executing quality assurance policies, procedures, and testing protocols for implementation across all production and manufacturing lines
• Attending production activities at various stages of production by assessing and inspecting the quality of outputs and measuring them against the set standards
• Ensuring correct processes are implemented in line with the Quality Assurance protocols to prevent errors in manufacturing or production that lead to product defects
• Investigating causes of defects that occur during the testing phase
• Reporting discovered defects and suggesting improvements in processes to all relevant departments for correction and prevention of future defects
• Providing tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards
• Scheduling regular inspection meetings with appropriate departments to establish an action plan on reducing waste, minimizing the number of defects, and improving levels of quality
• Specifying quality requirements of materials with suppliers to ensure compliance with the quality standards, reduce cost and time of inspection, and improve operations
• Assisting operations and production in tracking, documenting, and reporting quality levels as well as environmental and health and safety goals/KPIs
• Investigating complaints and non-conformance issues; maintaining complaint and nonconformance processing through records and tracking systems, including root cause and corrective actions
• Documenting internal audits and other quality assurance activities; coordinating and supporting on-site audits conducted by external providers
• Evaluating audit findings and developing, recommending, and implementing appropriate CAPA
• Assuring ongoing compliance with company quality assurance standards and industry regulatory requirements
• Administering accurate and appropriate recording and storage of QA records and associated documentation
• Collecting and compiling statistical quality data and analyzing them to identify root causes, determine patterns, and areas for improvement in the quality system
• Identifying company-wide training needs and organizing training interventions to ensure quality compliance and meet quality standards

Experience & Education Qualifications

• Higher Diploma or degree in Quality/Engineering
• 1-2 years of experience in Quality Assurance in a similar role
• Demonstrated knowledge of tools, concepts, and methodologies of QA
• Knowledge of quality inspection, auditing, and testing
• Exposure to testing best practices, version control practices, and defect management practices
• Basic knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements
• Experience with data analysis tools and statistical analysis
