R&D 5G Core Software Development Engineer

About the Job:

Nokia is looking for an R&D 5G Core Software Development Engineer to support our global software development organization in the Packet Core Engineering team. This role involves:

• Sustaining and increasing high-performance software development, achieving improvements in quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborating with Product Managers and R&D teams to create solutions.
• Developing and unit testing code in C/C++.
• Working on NIC drivers and packet processing.
• Supporting application code running in virtual machines (VM), custom hardware, and Kubernetes environments, including Linux and VxWorks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Study and familiarize yourself with various standards (3GPP/RFC) to parse and process packets.
• Maintain software configuration management practices within software development projects.
• Continuously build and integrate infrastructure tools and systems.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 10 years of extensive relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of IP/TCP/UDP networking, C/C++, DPDK, and Linux.
• Experience with routing protocols and cloud-native technologies.
• Highly organized with a strong focus on driving results.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with essential leadership, teamwork, and commitment.

Language Requirements: English proficiency is presumed as part of the workplace environment.
