About the Role
The Remedial and Recovery Officer– Corporate, SME and Retail credit is responsible for managing and recovering delinquent and distressed Corporate, SME and Retail accounts through effective collection, negotiation, restructuring, settlement, and, where necessary, legal recovery strategies. The role focuses on maximizing recoveries, stabilizing delinquent accounts, reducing non-performing and overdue exposures, minimizing potential credit losses, and supporting the release of provisions back to profit, while ensuring full compliance with the company’s policies, procedures, credit guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  1. Portfolio Management
    • Manage and monitor delinquent retail, SME, and corporate accounts, focusing on timely recovery and loss mitigation.
    • Develop and implement appropriate recovery strategies for overdue and distressed accounts.
    • Monitor portfolio performance and ensure exposures are managed within the company’s risk appetite.
    • Coordinate with relevant business units, SAM, Legal, and other stakeholders on recovery actions.
  2. Process Compliance
    • Ensure remedial and recovery activities are conducted in line with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and approved procedures.
    • Maintain proper documentation and ensure all recovery actions are conducted ethically and professionally.
  3. MIS and Reporting
    • Prepare accurate and timely daily, weekly, and monthly MIS on delinquency, recovery, and portfolio performance.
    • Analyze portfolio trends and recommend appropriate actions to improve recovery performance.
  4. Policy and Strategy Development
    • Support the development and implementation of effective remedial and recovery strategies.
    • Recommend appropriate solutions for distressed accounts, including restructuring, settlement, and other approved recovery measures.
    • Provide portfolio insights to support credit risk and business decisions.
  5. Audit and Compliance Readiness
    • Ensure remedial activities and documentation are maintained in accordance with audit and regulatory requirements.
    • Support internal, external, and regulatory reviews and ensure timely closure of audit findings.

Requirements

  • Omani Nationals only.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in retail collections, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of retail banking products, risk management, collection strategies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with collections tools, systems, and reporting platforms (e.g., Collections CRM, banking core systems).
