The Remote Sensing Specialist will be responsible for validating, benchmarking, and strengthening Earth Observation (EO) analytics to ensure they are scientifically sound, transferable across regions, and consistent over time. The role focuses on ensuring robustness, accuracy, and reliability of models using in-situ data, reference datasets, and established literature.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Validate EO-based models and analytics using in-situ measurements, reference datasets, and trusted external sources.
  • Assess temporal stability and spatial transferability of analytics across geographies, seasons, and sensor configurations.
  • Perform accuracy assessment, uncertainty analysis, and error characterization.
  • Support harmonization of multi-sensor datasets to ensure consistency over time.
  • Evaluate sensitivity of models to environmental, atmospheric, and acquisition-related effects.
  • Compare results against peer-reviewed literature and established benchmarks.
  • Recommend methodological improvements to enhance robustness and generalization.
  • Document validation results, assumptions, limitations, and confidence levels clearly.
  • Support technical reviews, audits, and external engagements requiring scientific credibility.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Typically 5+ years of relevant experience in a fast-paced product environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (or equivalent practical experience).
