Position

The company invites applications for a Research Assistant Fellow position in High Energy Astrophysics within the research group of Prof. Joseph Gelfand. The successful candidate will analyze and interpret observational data related to high-energy phenomena in our Galaxy, including the evolution of massive stars, and search for new physics using neutron stars and ionized gas. This position provides hands-on experience in astrophysical data analysis, scientific computing, and collaborative research in a dynamic academic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret observational astrophysical data related to high-energy phenomena
  • Conduct research on topics including massive star evolution, neutron stars, and ionized gas

  • Contribute to scientific reports, publications, and presentations

Supervision:
This position is supervised by Prof. Joseph Gelfand.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Astronomy, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience conducting astronomical research
  • Familiarity with the Python programming language
