Position

The newly established Center for Behavioral Institutional Design (C-BID) at the company is inviting applications for a Research Assistant role. This position is focused on exploring the origins of human behavioral diversity, developing empirically-informed models of human behavior, and designing innovative institutions and policies to promote social welfare. Candidates are sought from various disciplines, including Economics, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Mathematics, and Computer Science. Expertise in experimental, empirical, or theoretical methods is preferred, but a combination of these methods is ideal. Strong communication skills in English and the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams are essential.

The successful candidate will join a unique multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with faculty, post-docs, graduate students, undergraduate students, and a global network of prominent researchers. C-BID aims to create empirically validated models of human behavior, using these models to design and implement impactful policies and institutions. C-BID operates within three research clusters:

  • Cluster 1: Investigates the social, neurobiological, and institutional foundations of preferences, expectations, and behavior.
  • Cluster 2: Applies insights from Cluster 1 to design institutions, policies, and markets that enhance social and economic welfare, emphasizing human diversity.
  • Cluster 3: Utilizes findings from the first two clusters to craft behavioral institutions and policies tailored to specific socio-economic contexts, addressing real-world issues through collaboration with local public and private partners.

Responsibilities: Depending on specific projects, responsibilities may involve data collection, interpretation, and analysis, along with the development and testing of new tools and methods.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics or a related field, with consideration for candidates from Social and Behavioral Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science.
  • Previous research experience in behavioral social science is desirable.

Language Requirements: Excellent communication skills in English.
