The Center for Technology and Economic Development (CTED) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking to recruit a Research Assistant for a one-year period, starting no later than September 1, 2024. The Research Assistant will support the research efforts and data analysis for CTED’s projects, conducting research on labor migration and commodities markets, and completing miscellaneous tasks under the direction of Principal Investigator Dr. Yaw Nyarko.

The ideal candidate will possess experience with statistical software (STATA and Matlab), strong writing skills, and familiarity with CTED’s research projects. Responsibilities include assisting the Principal Investigator on field research projects, conducting data analyses, preparing literature reviews, translating research findings, and generating research reports, concept notes, and academic papers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience in conducting field research in emerging countries and working on randomized controlled trials (RCTs) is preferred.
- Proficiency in STATA and Matlab, along with a strong interest in economic and quantitative research.
- Knowledge in commodities markets, labor migration, and technology and economic development is advantageous.
The role requires the candidate to work in a multidisciplinary environment, operating autonomously while being a collaborative team member under the guidance of the Principal Investigator.
