Research Assistant in the Center for Technology and Economic Development (CTED)

The Center for Technology and Economic Development (CTED) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for the position of Research Assistant for a one-year period, starting no later than February 1, 2025 (or earlier).

The Research Assistant will support CTED’s research efforts and data analysis focused on economic development issues in the UAE in collaboration with government agencies and datasets. Responsibilities include conducting research, assisting the Principal Investigator Dr. Yaw Nyarko on field research projects, conducting data analysis, preparing literature reviews, translating research findings, and generating research reports, concept notes, and academic papers.

Location: Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates
Work Conditions: On-site, Full-time
Language Requirements: Knowledge of English is implied, but no specific language requirements stated.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics or a related field (Economics graduates preferred).
• Experience with statistical software (STATA and Matlab).
• Strong writing skills and knowledge of CTED research projects.
• Experience conducting public policy research and working with government datasets is preferred.
• Understanding of commodities markets, labor migration, and technology and economic development is considered a plus.
• Experience in Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) and field work preferred.
