Research Assistant: Laboratory for Computer-Human Intelligence

The Laboratory for Computer-Human Intelligence at New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking a motivated Research Assistant to contribute to cutting-edge machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science applications that utilize human signals, such as text, audio, and physiology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research projects under the direction of Principal Investigator Tuka Alhanai.
• Develop data ingestion engines for organizing data to facilitate processing.
• Process multimodal signals (audio, text, physiology, image, movement) using computational methods.
• Apply machine learning algorithms to detect patterns in data and model outcomes.
• Visualize data and results through plots, charts, and images.
• Structure and document work for reproducibility and accessibility, including contributions to journals and conferences.

Technical Experience Required:

• End-to-end application development (databases, algorithms, visualizations).
• Experience processing various data types/signals.
• Application of machine learning algorithms (regression, neural networks).
• Proficiency in programming languages/frameworks: Bash, SQL, Python, HTML, JavaScript, TensorFlow/PyTorch, and version control (git).
• Experience in authoring peer-reviewed scientific papers.

Educational Experience:

• Bachelor's degree (ideally Master's) in Computer Science or a related field (Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Economics, etc.).
