Research Assistant

About the Job: The New York University Abu Dhabi Center for Interdisciplinary Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CIDSAI) and Computational Approaches to Modeling Language (CAMeL) Lab are looking to hire a Research Assistant. The selected candidate will work across various CIDSAI/CAMeL research areas, engage in the development of open-source tools and resources, and contribute to publications related to their projects.

The CIDSAI is dedicated to advancing research in data science and artificial intelligence, while the CAMeL Lab focuses on Arabic natural language processing and computational linguistics. The candidate will assist with specific projects involving Arabic NLP, and will be part of the CAMeL Lab team.

Since its inception in 2014, the CAMeL Lab has published over 180 publications and developed 20 language resources and tools.

Location: Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates (On-site)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Strong programming, software engineering skills, and machine learning experience.
• Some experience with research publications is preferred.
• Knowledge of the Arabic language is preferred but not required.
• Prior experience in Arabic NLP is also preferred but not required.
